AP and Transfer Credit

<![CDATA[

AP credit

You will get credit for taking PSYC100 if you get a 4 or 5 on the AP Psychology Exam.

We do NOT accept credit for AP Statistics (which comes in as STAT200) for PSYC209.

Make sure you send the official scores to UD and confirm that the credit is on your academic record early during the Fall semester. You can check UDSIS for this information through the drop-down menu on the left side by clicking on “Transfer Credit: Report” (see an example to the right).

If the credit has not appeared, you will have trouble registering for your upper-level psychology classes when Spring semester registration starts in November. If you have questions regarding your AP credit (or other test credits), please contact the Transfer Center.

Credit Transferred from Another School

The University of Delaware accepts credits from regionally accredited institutions in which students received a grade of “C” or better in college-level courses (not remedial). Pass/Fail grades are not accepted. Remember that theResidency Requirement states that you need to complete either (1) at least 90 of the first 100 credits, or (2) at least 30 of the final 36 credits at UD to be eligible to earn a UD degree.

Newly Admitted Students

The Admissions Office typically helps freshmen and transfer students with transferring courses. Please read the information on the Transfer Credit website. Please note there are slightly different procedures for evaluating U.S. institutions compared to International/Study Abroad institutions.

If you need to have Psychology or Neuroscience courses re-evaluated, please complete a Transfer Course Evaluation Request.

Current Students

If you are planning to take a course at another institution (e.g., a summer course at a college near your home), you need to complete the paperwork BEFORE you register for that course. Please CAREFULLY follow the entire procedure outlined on the Transfer Credit website. Please note there are slightly different procedures for evaluating U.S. institutions compared to International/Study Abroad institutions.

If you need an evaluation for Psychology and/or Neuroscience courses that do NOT appear on the Transfer Matrix, please complete a Transfer Course Evaluation Request.

All students, please note:

Even if Dr. Ly evaluates that your course is equivalent to a UD PSYC/NSCI course, you are responsible for completing the paperwork through the Registrar’s Office to get the transfer credit to appear on your academic record. Make sure you follow all of the necessary steps outlined on the Transfer Credit website.

You can check UDSIS to confirm whether your credit has transferred through the drop-down menu on the left side by clicking on “Transfer Credit: Report” (see an example to the left).
