Majors & Minors

<![CDATA[

The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences offers three majors, one major as a part of the Social Studies Education Program, and two minors. See below for a full list and click on each title for more information.

Majors

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (PSYC B.A.)

The B.A. in Psychology is the most common major, providing a liberal arts education. In addition to the University and College requirements, the B.A. in Psychology requires only 10 psychology courses. If you are considering double majoring or multiple minors, this may be a good option.

Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience (NSCI B.S.)

The B.S. in Neuroscience requires more courses in biology, chemistry, math, and physics – this is an interdisciplinary major. Students following the B.S. take fewer College breadth requirements. We recommend this major for students who love the intersection between biology, chemistry, the brain, and human behavior. The brain is studied at many different levels of analysis from the molecular and cellular to the behavioral.

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Education (PSYC ED B.A.)

The Psychology Education Major is a part of the Social Studies Education Program. Students complete the requirements of a B.A. in Psychology major, plus additional courses in social sciences, history, and education. It includes a student teaching semester. Upon completion, you are eligible for teaching history and social studies at secondary schools in Delaware.
